Who We Are

The SAR is a historical, educational and patriotic non-profit United States 501(c) 3 corporation that seeks to maintain and extend

• the institutions of American freedom;
• an appreciation for true patriotism;
• a respect for our national symbols;
• the value of American citizenship; and
• the unifying force of a pluribus Unum that has created, from the people of many nations, one nation and one people

Organization membership is composed of men who can document that they are direct descendants of an individual who participated in the Revolutionary War on behalf of the revolutionaries.  We perpetuate the status of patriotism, courage, sacrifice, tragedy, and triumph of the man who achieved the independence of the American people in the belief that these stories are universal ones of man’s eternal struggle against tyranny, relevant to all time, and will inspire and strengthen each succeeding generation as it too is called upon to defend our freedoms on the battlefield and in our public institutions.

SAR Mission:

The objects of this Society are declared to be patriotic, historical and educational; to unite and promote fellowship among the descendants of those who sacrificed to achieve the independence of the American people, to inspire them and the community-at-large with a more profound reverence for the principles of the government founded by our forefathers; to foster true patriotism; and to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom.
